The Bet on the Future

The Wiggin Sessions

This week on TWS: A contrarian idea from one of America’s foremost futurist economists.

Gale Pooley teaches business management at Brigham Young University in Honolulu. He has also taught statistics and analysis at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

His unique thesis: Pooley claims that despite turbulent markets and historic inflation, the earth is actually “superabundant” with resources… It’s just a matter of innovating to be able to “rearrange the atoms” to create technologies of lasting value.

This idea is a breath of fresh air. He reminds us why it’s important to keep things in perspective during these times of economic and supply chain failure, the escalation of the war in Europe, and contentious global politics. Humanity, after all, is a bigger story than “Lost Decades and price-points.”

P.S. A number of readers have asked if I will be talking about my trip to Greenland anytime soon. The answer: a resounding Yes! We are working with John Englander, the oceanographer who led the trip, to record and publish a fulfilling recap and analysis in the coming weeks. It’ll be out on YouTube soon. You can subscribe to our channel by clicking here in the meantime.
